Action:

1) Open Windows Explorer.
2) Use the 'File' menu:

a) Select the root folder (directory)
EXAMPLE: C:.
b) Select AUTOEXEC.BAT from the right-hand window.
c) Select the 'File' menu and select 'Rename'.
d) Type a different name such as AUTOEXEC.XXX. (The existing name is automatically replaced.)

3) Repeat steps 1) and 2) to rename CONFIG.SYS.
4) Shut down Windows.
5) Shut down and reboot the computer.
